Episode 2 started with a real question from a real kid at a real bedtime: 'Where do the colors go at night?' If you've ever been asked this while turning off a lamp, you know it deserves a proper answer.
The adventure is our gentlest one yet: Milo and Mila, one flashlight, and a walk through a Bramblewood meadow after dark. Nova the star sprite guest-stars, explaining that moonlight is really sunlight playing bounce-off-the-moon.
The colors don't go anywhere at night. They're just waiting for light to come and wake them up.
The big idea, sized for small people: colors aren't gone at night. Color is light doing its work — so when the light rests, the colors rest too. The fireflies deliver the punchline by carrying their own little lights.
Keep an ear out for thirty full seconds of just crickets and starlight. Our test audiences of four-year-olds went completely still. So did their parents.
